Cruising The Mexican Riviera and the Sea of Cortez Ten days aboard the ms Ryndam of Holland America Lines. Some Final Thoughts This was the best cruise Susan and I have ever taken! The ship was spotless, the crew exceptionally friendly... a server at the Lido Restaurant would greet us with song at breakfast.. "Oh What a Beautiful Morning!" Sometimes the passengers would join in. Every crew member smiled and said hello as he or she passed you. Your cabin steward placed a chocolate on your pillow at night. Eating in the Dining Room was comparable to the finest restaurants in the world. You could not get a better prime rib for example, or crab or lobster. The choices were sometimes overwhelming compared to the simpler fare I usually have. The Captain was a gracious host at the Mariner's Club parties he gave us and his welcome voice on our cabin radio told us where we were headed each morning. We arrived in San Diego at 8 am on Friday morning and at 5pm the ship sailed once again for Mexico. I know all of the crew will make the new passengers feel, as they did for us, that they were the first passengers the ship had ever had. That is the mark of a truly great ship. Bill and Susan |
