Down Kearny to Market
Kearny Street is the
highway for shopping, and hosts of fair ladies trip its stony pavements, looking
with absorbed attention at window displays of silks and laces, coats and
curtains.
Some are lured by the fragrant aroma or tempting window exhibition into the
sanctuary of ices and candies; others succumb to the florist, and thus money
circulates by the caprice of feminine fancy.
