THE GRIPS

Figures 4 and 5 show the gripping attachment used in two different positions. A vertical slide works is standard, and is moved up and down by a screw and hand-wheel. The small upper screw going down through the large screw operates it. At the lower end of the slide is a wedge shaped block. The wedge actuates two jars horizontally which grip the rope.

The two arms extending from the grip fasten the grip mechanism to the dummy.
