George and Georgia Stratos and their family.

George of the Palm Garden Grill

While working long hours at first the Golden Rule Cafe and later the Palm Garden Grill, George and his wife, Georgia, raised a most talented family.
Georgia herself had a wonderful career. She was a singer with the San Francisco Opera. In the photo below, she is at right facing the camera. The performance was "Marta."
Kurt Adler is at center. He was chorus director at the time, and later became general director.

Georgia Gianopoulos was a San Francisco native and instilled a love of the City in her daughters, Georgette and Grace. She went to Roosevelt Junior High School and Lowell High. She met George while attending the University of California. She died in 1979.

Georgette Stratos, PhD, is co-director of the Faculty Development Center at Stanford University.

Grace Stratos, and her partner,
Jenny Bisset, own Stage Right Interiors, providing a design service for the real estate industry.

And how about George? He is a busy Volunteer at the Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, California.

Thanks again, George, for keeping my Palm Garden Grill memories alive.

Bill Roddy
