Santa Barbara Earthquake of June 29, 1925 American Legion and McKay Building
From both of these structures the front wall has been stripped. A lamp post leans dejectedly, and the streets are covered with crumbling walls and water from broken pipes. Members of the Naval Reserves, sailors from a United States destroyer, a coast guard boat, and members of the American Legion did guard duty until relieved by 200 marines under Major Frank Evans. |
